PolyU Entrepreneurship Parade 2019 aims to facilitate exchange of views on innovation and entrepreneurship; and help participants develop a "Do Well Do Good" entrepreneurial mindset and spirit. The event will bring together an amazing and diverse community of our supported start-ups to share about their businesses in the public showcase. A 3-day-public exhibition will follow!
PolyU Institute for Entrepreneurship
In pursuit of knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship, the Institute for Entrepreneurship (IfE) of PolyU was established to serve as an important platform between academics and business. By harnessing the expertise and resources of the University, IfE fosters and enables entrepreneurship development, supports industry innovations, and strengthens the competitive edge of enterprises in the global marketplace.
PolyU InnoHub
Located in Jockey Club Innovation Tower on the PolyU campus as well as the PolyU Shenzhen Base in the Nanshan District in Shenzhen, PolyU InnoHub was established in March 2017 as a strategic initiative to further develop PolyU’s leading position in driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. It aims to build a regional partnership network to foster start-ups exchange and mutual soft landings, and to facilitate multi-disciplinary cross-sector collaborations and co-creations to advance knowledge transfer and entrepreneurship in the region.

Dr Abraham Lam
Director of MEGA Automation & FUSQUARE
Dr Abraham Lam is the director of MEGA Automation Ltd. and Shenzhen FUSQUARE Technology Ltd. He acquired his Ph.D from the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has abundant experience in building automation and smart building applications. Knowing the difficulties and challenges from industries, Dr Abraham Lam is keen to apply ICT technologies into the built environment and smart city. He is also an active evangelist in promoting ICT solutions for facility and energy
management. He developed the ISO 50001-based energy management system (EnMS) platform, which connects building automation system (BAS) of building with the EnMS; showing the energy portfolio of equipment and system efficiency information on-demand basis. The development has been covered by various media towards his contribution to the sustainable city. He was awarded the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Leader in 2018
for his outstanding performance and excellent leadership, and he was interviewed frequently by various media including TV channels, newspapers and radios.
Eva Wong

Eva co-founded WEDO GLOBAL and has been working with ethnic minorities and designing interactive cultural activities for schools, corporations and NGOs in Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Cambodia, Singapore and Sri Lanka. Till now, over 12,000 participants from schools, corporates, and other organizations joined their multicultural workshop, community tours or training. In 2017, she attended an Executive Program in Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford Graduate School of Business.
She has a multitude of work and project management experience. She is currently the member of Commission on Poverty, Social Enterprise Advisory Committee, Social Welfare Advisory Committee of the HKSAR Government as well as RTHK Board of Advisors, and has an extensive network with schools, corporates, NGOs and Government.

Edwin Wong is the CEO of Cloudbreakr, an AI powered influencer marketing platform. He has focused on influencer marketing & analytics for years, with an aim to empower pioneers and brands to share the stories that influence people. With less than 3 years, he works with the team to expand the company from Hong Kong to Malaysia, and provide the software to over 10,000 marketers. They also aim to develop a 3D scanning machine that can be fully automated so that customers can do the scanning and purchase within the machine by herself without interference from salesperson.

Animomo aims to promote social integration by providing an interactive storytelling mobile app with a physical animal toy set, which are designed for children regardless of their visual abilities. The toys are embedded with a Bluetooth module for connecting them with the games in the app. Using the tactile mat on the mobile device and selecting different story scenarios in the app, visually impaired children and sighted ones can create stories together with the toy set and share their feelings.

The App “HKOK” currently has 50,000 users, covering over 70% of the new mainland Chinese students coming to Hong Kong every year with a 10% increase of new users every month. In addition to the HK$1 million funding support from PolyU, Degree (Hong Kong) Education Consulting Limited has secured over HK$5.25 million further investment.

Labwork focuses on remote sensing and automation with cloud technology, offering remote laboratory to local middle schools as a spin-off from PolyU.

Through NextWiFi’s business WiFi routers, merchants may engage customers proactively by sending pop-up messages, local information, entertainment (video, audio, games) and social networking services. By analysing traffic and customer preferences in stores or nearby, merchants may better strategise marketing campaigns to boost their sales and businesses.
NextWiFi’s system currently covers 30 High-speed Railway Stations in Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces in mainland China. The system is also under installation in 50 more stations. Since its incorporation in 2014, NextWiFi has secured over HK$1.5 million further investment, in addition to HK$1 million funding support from PolyU.

This invention, “Exoskeleton - to cater extreme load of giant puppet body”, is probably the first whole-body exoskeleton in the world which operates with the assistance of skate wheels and coiled spring wire. The construction of the exoskeleton is built with sturdy frame while remains flexible for dynamic movements. It supports and distributes the weight of giant puppet and wearers’ body with strategic ergonomics.

The product has been approved by FDA and is undergoing clinical trial of CFDA. In addition to the HK$0.97 million funding support from PolyU, the company has secured over HK$1.9 million further investment and was admitted to HAX, the world famous hardware accelerator from Silicon Valley.

Vision Science and Technology Company Limited (VST) aims to commercialise Defocus Incorporated Soft Contact (DISC) lens for myopia control developed by School of Optometry, PolyU. Clinical trials results suggested that DISC lens can reduce myopia progression up to 60%, and are particularly beneficial for school children aged 6-18 who are in fast myopic progression period by reducing their risks of developing high myopia.
VST’s product is available for order in over 60 optometry centres in Hong Kong and has officially entered China market in mid-2019. The team targets to expand its sales network to all cities in China by 2020. Since its incorporation in 2016, VST has secured over HK$1.75 million further investment, in addition to the HK$1.1million funding support from PolyU.
